New Year's Baby

If you have the first baby of the new year, you often get a few gifts from the local hospital or  other organizations.  But what do you do for a baby name to celebrate being born on the first day of a new year? What would you name a New Year's Day baby?

Beyonce Baby and Pregnancy

Baby and pregnancy rumors are flying around Beyonce and partner Jay-Z's pregnancy faster than contractions in transition. We've got the rumors about her faking a pregnancy to the point where she even responded with a video talking about the rumors.  Some conspirasists still says she's not pregnant. Others say she's got a surrogate having the baby for her.

Tonight, Twitter is all fired up about Beyonce supposedly having given birth to a baby girl name Tiana May Carter.

Does anyone else remember when we didn't believe that Suri Cruise existed? What Beyonce rumors have you heard?

Positive Pregnancy Test

No, this isn't dumpster diving in the "traditional" sense of the word - this is where you go after the pregnancy test you took last night and threw away and now want to read it again.  After the time limit has expired... only last night's negative is this morning's positive?  No, it's typically nothing but an evaporation line.  This is why the instructions on the pregnancy test, even the early pregnancy test, says don't read this pregnancy tests after so many minutes. This only confuses you and messes with your mind!  I won't say I know from experience, but...

About Pregnancy & Childbirth: Where were you when your water blew?

Where were you when your water blew?

Hand Covering Mouth

So, we've been discussing where you were when your water broke. Some of the stories are really hilarious and others you can just breathe a sigh of relief for mom. Here are some of the ones I laughed at and identified with:

"Had just gotten into bed and was reaching up to turn off the light when I heard the pop and yelled for dh to get towels (fortunately I had put a water proof mattress pad on the bed months before). Lovely ride to the hospital with folded towels in my already too small pants in below freezing temps."

"Logan's sac was opened during the c-section delivery. It was the weirdest feeling. My OB estimates that Logan had 5x the amount of fluid most have. It went everywhere and got everyone. As soon as the OB did it, I remember saying, 'Oh I can breathe again!' Everyone just laughed."

Did you know that your water breaking at the start of labor only happens about 13% of the time? Doesn't sound very movie-like, but it's memorable none the less! Add your water breaking story!

I think yoga is perfect for pregnancy. It can be an easy place for beginners to start and yet can pack quit the workout for the advanced practitioner. It's generally safe and acceptable in pregnancy for all women. The relaxation component is also nice - a chance to slow down an already hectic mind. With that in mind, you can check out so of the newest videos in our gallery that include some basic yoga poses for pregnancy:

This is also perfect way to relieve some of that holiday stress!
