Best for Babes held a celebrity breastfeeding and toxin-free home event. The goal was to help celebrities who were pregnant or recently had babies learn about breastfeeding and its benefits as well as keeping children away from harmful toxins. Emphasis was placed on all of the public health aspects of breastfeeding as well as overcoming the Booby Traps (TM) that all moms face when it comes to breastfeeding.
I love to hear the stories of moms and how they see breastfeeding, what worked, what didn't and what advice they have to give others. At the center of this event were the stories of three amazing moms: Jenna Elfman, who struggled in breastfeeding her first baby and with her second baby had enough milk to donate to a methamphetamine addicted baby; Laila Ali, who shared about her struggles feeding her first baby; and Kelly Preston, who admitted to being late to the event because she was nursing her 16 month old son. Guests were also able to look at products from Ameda, including their new multi-user pump; and Leading Lady, maker of some great nursing bras. You can stay tuned to their blog for more on the event as well as a chance to win a swag bag from the event!
